Saturday, 24 September 2022

A small arrival of migrants in the morning brought a few scarcities but suprisingly little in the way of back up commoner migrants. The Wryneck found late yesterday evening showed very well all day by cliff farm while a Red-breasted Flycatcher new in at the warren quickly moved upto canal hedge where it remained then nearby along the canal a Barred Warbler which while typically elusive eventually gave some good views. There were also 4 Yellow-browed Warbler seen (Kew, Sammys, Terinal wood, willow cottage) and an 'Eastern type' Lesser Whitethroat at the Warren.

The Temminck's Stint was still on canal scrape while Kilnsea wetlands had a Spoonbill, 4 Little Stint, a Curlew Sandpiper, Spotted Redshank and a Short-eared Owl.

Over the sea a full spoon Pomarine Skua flew north and a juvenile Long-tailed Skua flew south.
