Thurs 28th
Migration/sea-watch 07.30-10.30, 14.30-15.00. Sunny spells clouding over from late morning, a force 3-1 N-NE wind.
There was some light passage which included 6 Common Scoter, 21 Red-throated Diver, 1 Fulmar, 19 Lapwing, 1 Kittiwake, 1 Razorbill, 10 Skylark, 4 Jackdaw, 2 Rook, 7 Greenfinch, 1 Linnet.
Other birds included 2 Greylag Geese, 481 Shelduck, 2 Gadwall, 5 Scaup, 1 Peregrine, 1 Water Rail, 2 Barn Owl, 2 Rock Pipit.

Wed 27th
Migration/sea-watch 08.00-10.00. A glorious spring day with big blue skies and a light force 1-2 N wind.
On the move were a Red-throated Diver, 1 Gannet, 4 Cormorant, 82 Lapwing U-turned, 220 Herring Gull, 2 Skylark, 2 Meadow Pipit, 1 Siskin, 1 Linnet. 
Still present were 2 Greylag Geese, 1 Barnacle Goose, 668 Brent and 20 Pale-bellied Brent, 174 Wigeon, 2 Gadwall, 4 Teal, 2 Long-tailed Duck, 10 Goldeneye, 1 Red-breasted Merganser, 1 Little Egret, 1 Jack Snipe, 1 Greenshank, 5 Skylark, 2 Rock Pipit, 1 Fieldfare.

Sea-watch 08.15-09.15. Cloudy with a cold force 3 NE wind.
The only birds seen were 2 Greylag Geese, 2 Red-throated Diver, 11 Gannet, 1 Fieldfare and 3 Song Thrush.

Sea-watch 08.00-10.00. Cloudy all day with a cold force 3 NE wind.
On the move were 2 Tufted Duck, 1 Goldeneye, 15 Red-throated Diver, 38 Gannet, 72 Herring Gull, 1 Skylark.
Other birds present included 2 Greylag Geese, the Barnacle Goose, 4 Gadwall, 1 Long-tailed Duck, 1 Red-breasted Merganser, 1 Little Egret, 1 Greenshank and 1 Fieldfare.

Sea-watch 07.30-10.00. Another cloudy day with a few brief sightings of the sun, a cold force 3 NE wind.
Another Red Kite flew south in the morning, 3 Great Northern Divers were seen offshore and other birds on the move were 2 Common Scoter, 2 Eider, 40 Red-throated Diver, and 2 Gannet.
Other birds present included the Black Swan, the Barnacle Goose, 9 Pale-bellied Brent, 2 Gadwall, 40 Teal, 2 Long-tailed Duck, 11 Goldeneye, 2 Water Rail, 2 Jack Snipe a Greenshank and 6 Redwing.

Sea-watch 07.00-10.00. Another cloudy day with light snow showers, in a cold force 3 NE wind.
On the move were 1 Greylag Geese, 17 Red-throated Diver, 3 Gannet, 1 Marsh Harrier, 657 Herring Gulls, 1 Razorbill. 
Birds present included a Black Swan, a Barnacle Goose, 22 Pale-bellied Brent, 2 Gadwall, 34 Teal, 2 Long-tailed Duck, 12 Goldeneye, and a Rock Pipit.

Sea-watch 08.00-10.00. Cloudy all day with light wintry showers, a cold force 2-3 E wind.
1100 Brent Geese were in the area, a Barnacle Goose was at Beacon Lagoons, 32 Teal, 2 Long-tailed Duck and 14 Goldeneye were at Beacon Ponds, while offshore were 4 Common Scoter, 63 Red-throated Diver, 2 Gannet, 420 Herring Gulls.

Sea-watch 07.30-09.30, 14.30-15.30. Cloudy all day with light wintry showers, a cold force 2-3 E wind.
An Egyptian Goose flew north past the Warren and found at Kilnsea Wetlands, also in the Kilnsea Wetlands/Beacon Ponds area were a Black Swan, 756 Brent, 22 Pale-bellied Brents, 280 Wigeon, 28 Teal, 2 Tufted Duck, 2 Long-tailed Duck, 12 Goldeneye, 1 Red-breasted Merganser and 152 Lapwing.
On the move were 87 Red-throated Diver, 1 Fulmar, 152 Herring Gull and 2 Razorbill.

Sea-watch 07.30-10.45. A cold raw day with 8/8 cloud cover and a force 3 E wind.
There was no sign of the Crane, but there was a Barnacle Goose at Kilnsea Wetlands, also in the Beacon Ponds/Kilnsea Wetlands area were 29 Pale-bellied Brents, 144 Wigeon, 25 Teal, 1 Pochard, 2 Tufted Duck, 1 Long-tailed Duck, 12 Goldeneye, 2 Red-breasted Merganser.
On the move south were 1 Tufted Duck, 4 Eider, 5 Common Scoter, 211 Red-throated Diver, 1 Cormorant, 12 Gannet, 6 Kittiwake, 13 auk sp, 1 Guillemot, 2 Razorbill.
Other birds seen included 2 Redwing, 1 Chiffchaff and 2 Siskin.

Migration/sea-watch 11.50-13.40. Heavy overnight frost and fog slow to clear, finally cleared by mid-day with a force 1-2 W wind.
A good day with 2 additions to the year list, the first a Common Buzzard U-turned and early afternoon a Common Crane flew south then turned back north and landed in fields north of Long Bank. Two Hen Harriers were also seen in the Long Bank area, a male and a ringtail. 
On the move were 44 Pink-footed Geese NW, 7 Red-throated Diver, 1 Gannet, 1 Guillemot and 1 Razorbill. Other birds included 11 Greylag Geese, 600 Brent and 4 Pale-bellied Brent Geese, 2 Wigeon, 9 Teal, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 1 Peregrine, 2 Jack Snipe, 1 Woodcock, 1 Fieldfare.

Migration/sea-watch 07.30-10.00, 15.15-16.00. A cloudy start with sunny spells developing and a force 1-2 SE wind.
On the move were 6 Shelduck, 1 Eider, 7 Common Scoter, 202 Red-throated Diver, 2 Great Crested Grebe, 5 Gannet, 1 auk sp, 4 Razorbill, 1 Siskin.
Birds present included 2 Gadwall, 2 Teal, 2 Long-tailed Duck, 12 Goldeneye, 1 Red-breasted Merganser, a Fieldfare, 4 Redwing and 4 Siskin.

Migration/sea-watch 06.30-10.30, 10.45-12.30. A bright start but fog moved in during the early afternoon, a light south wind.
The fine conditions induced some light passage south – 5 Greylag Geese, 53 Barnacle Geese U-turned, 4 Shelduck, 7 Wigeon, 5 Teal, 33 Red-throated Diver, 1 Great Northern Diver, 209 Black-headed Gull, 6 Stock Dove, 26 Skylark, 2 Meadow Pipit, 2 Pied Wagtail, 2 Magpie, 4 Jackdaw, 2 Rook, 2 Chaffinch, 6 Greenfinch, 24 Siskin, 15 Linnet, 1 Yellowhammer and 1 Lapland Bunting
Other birds seen included 1 Tufted Duck, 4 Scaup, 2 Long-tailed Duck, 8 Goldeneye, 1 Red-breasted Merganser, 1 Little Egret, 345 Lapwing, a Jack Snipe, a Snipe, a Fieldfare and 4 Song Thrush.

Sea-watches 07.45-09.15. Mostly cloudy with the odd glimpse of the sun in a light force 1 SW wind.
Red Kite flew south over Kilnsea but then returned back north-west up river, a Lapland Bunting was seen in the Kilnsea Wetlands/Beacon Ponds area, where there were still 776 Brent and 49 Pale-bellied Brents, 8 Teal, a Shoveler, 2 Long-tailed Duck, 1 Red-breasted Merganser, a Little Egret, a Grey Heron, and 2 Greenshank.
On the move were 4 Pintail, 28 Red-throated Diver, 2 auk sp, 8 Skylark and 25 Siskin.
Other birds seen included 4 Scaup on the Humber, a Fieldfare and 3 Song Thrush.

No watches. A calm day with plenty of sunny spells and much more spring like with a force 2-1 W wind
In the Kilnsea Wetlands/Beacon Ponds area were a Greylag Goose, 720 Brent Geese, 8 Pale-bellied Brent Geese, 215 Wigeon, 2 Long-tailed Duck, 10 Goldeneye, 1 Red-breasted Merganser, 171 Lapwing, 2 Greenshank.
Elsewhere there were 2 Red-throated Divers, a Woodcock, a Little Owl at Kew, a Short-eared Owl at Long Bank, 4 Skylark, 1 Fieldfare, 1 Song Thrush, 1 Mistle Thrush, 19 Siskin.

Sea-watch 08.30-09.30. Heavy overnight rain petered out by early morning with a decreasing W wind and sunny spells. The road to the Point was open again in the afternoon.
At Beacon Ponds/Kilnsea Wetlands were 150 Wigeon, 20 Teal, 54 Mallard, 3 Pochard, 3 Tufted Duck, 2 Long-tailed Duck, 12 Goldeneye, 1 Woodcock.
Other birds seen included 1 Gadwall, a Goldeneye south, 10 Red-throated Diver, 2 Gannet, 1 Razorbill, 2 Song Thrush and a Siskin.

Sea-watch 07.50-09.35. Cloudy all day with snow by late afternoon in a stiffening force 3-6 SW wind
Apart from a Gadwall on Canal Scrape and 21 Lapwings in North Field, all other sightings were over the sea – 1 Common Scoter, 44 Red-throated Diver, 2 Great Crested Grebe, 1 Gannet, 4 Eider, 1 Lesser B.B. Gull, 6 auk sp, 1 Guillemot and 7 Razorbill.

The short sea-watch produced 1 Common Scoter, 4 Red-throated Diver, 2 Gannet, 3 Kittiwake, 30 auk sp and 2 Guillemot.
The only other birds seen were a Gadwall, Barn Owl, a Little Owl and a Redwing.

Sea-watch 07.50-10.20. A bright sunny start clouding over early afternoon, a cold force 4-2 SE wind
The tide came on the road leaving plenty of debris and closing the road until later in the week.
It was a good day over the sea 1 Wigeon, 8 Common Scoter, 2 Red-throated Diver, 1 Great Northern Diver, 18 Fulmar, 25 Gannet, 376 Herring Gull, 58 Great B.B.Gull, 32 Kittiwake, 642 auk sp, 114 Guillemot, 133 Razorbill.
Other birds seen included a Gadwall, a Marsh Harrier U-turned,, a Jack Snipe, a Woodock, a Barn Owl, a Fieldfare, 2 Song Thrush and a Redwing.

Sea-watch 08.00-10.00. Cloudy all day with rain on and off for most of it, a force 4-6 SE wind.
Over the sea were 26 Common Scoter, 5 Red-throated Diver, 3 Oystercatcher, 7 auk sp, 2 Razorbill and 1 Guillemot. 
Other birds present included 746 Brent Geese, 26 Pale-bellied Brents, 181 Wigeon, 8 Teal, 1 Tufted Duck, 2 Long-tailed Duck, 9 Goldeneye, a Heron, a Water Rail, 2 Woodcock, 1 Greenshank, 1 Mediterranean Gull, a Barn owl and 2 Redwing.

A heavy overnight frost and clear blue skies all day with a light WNW wind.
An unusual find was a Bittern at Beacon Ponds in the early hours which flew off towards the dunes and wasn’t seen again. Also in the Beacon Ponds/Kilnsea Wetlands area were 3 Greylag Geese, 18 Pale-bellied Brents with the 630 Dark-bellieds, 147 Wigeon, 24 Teal, 1 Scaup, 2 Long-tailed Duck, 12 Goldeneye, 1 Jack Snipe, 1 Greenshank, 1 Short-eared Owl, 1 Snow Bunting.
Other birds seen elsewhere included a Water Rail, 3 Snipe, 1 Barn Owl, 1 Fieldfare, 3 Song Thrush, 5 Siskin, 45 Yellowhammer and 30 Reed Bunting.

Sea-watch 08.00-09.15. A dully day with a light NW wind increasing by late afternoon, with occasional sleet showers.
On the move were 1 Teal, 1 Tufted Duck, 7 Common Scoter, 17 Red-throated Diver, 1 Gannet, 3 Jackdaw, 5 Siskin.
Birds present included 7 Greylag Geese, 590 Dark-bellied and 24 Pale-bellied Brents, 202 Wigeon, 60 Teal, 1 Shoveler, 2 Tufted Duck, 1 Scaup, 2 Long-tailed Duck, 12 Goldeneye, 1 Grey Heron, 2 Peregrine, 5 Snipe, 2 Greenshank, 1 Barn Owl, 1 Meadow Pipit, 1 Fieldfare, 6 Song Thrush, 1 Redwing, a Linnet and 30 Reed Buntings.

Sea-watch 08.00-09.15, 13.00-13.45. Another cold day with 1 inch of overnight snow and frost, sunny spells with a force 2 WNW wind.
Over the sea were 2 Common Scoter, 16 Red-throated Diver, 1 Gannet, 1 Shag, 1 Razorbill and a Phalarope sp which flew north at 13.40.
A Pochard at Beacon Ponds was an addition to the year list, also there were 2 Long-tailed Ducks, a Barn Owl was at Long Bank, a Fieldfare and 3 Song Thrush at the Point.

Sea-watch 08.30-12.30. Cloudy all day with a cold force 4-2 W wind.
Two more additions to the year list were seabirds, singles of Manx Shearwater and Puffin. Also over the sea were a Long-tailed Duck north, 1 Common Scoter, 1 Goldeneye, 76 Red-throated Diver, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 3 Fulmar, 5 Gannet, 10 Kittiwake, 34 auk sp, 6 Guillemot, 152 Razorbill.
Other birds seen included 2 Whooper Swan, 600 Brent Geese, 213 Wigeon, 2 Tufted Duck, 8 Goldeneye, 1 Water Rail, 1 Fieldfare and 4 Goldfinch.

Sea-watches 08.30-12.00, 15.15-15.45. Cold blustery NW-N wind, cloudy with odd showers.
The sea produced most of the days birding, the highlight was a Pomarine Skua which flew south, other birds seen included 53 Red-throated Diver, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 5 Fulmar, 1 Cormorant, 1 Common Scoter, 201 Kittiwakes, 35 auk sp, 12 Guillemot, 10 Razorbill.
Other birds seen included a Whooper Swan, 570 Dark-bellied, 12 Pale-bellied Brents at Long Bank, 2 Siskin and 2 Lesser Redpoll at Kew.

Sea-watch 08.00-11.00. Blue skies with some cloudy spells and a couple of short sharp showers, a light force 2 W wind.
There was some light passage including 5 Teal, 3 Common Scoter, 108 Red-throated Diver, 4 Gannet, 3 Cormorant, 3 Lapwing, 1 Jack Snipe in off got took by a Peregrine before it reached land!, 6 Black-headed Gull, 235 Herring Gull, 8 auk sp, 4 Guillemot, 3 Razorbill, 11 Stock Dove, 10 Skylark and 5 Siskin.
There were 2 Long-tailed Ducks at Beacon Ponds as well as 16 Teal, 10 Goldeneye and 2 Greenshank and other birds seen included a Little Egret, 40 Blackbird, 1 Fieldfare, 7 Song Thrush, 7 Redwing, a Chiffchaff and 70+ Linnet.
