We're excited to be launching a new event, the Spurn Research Day on Saturday 2nd July 2022. The event will start with a guided walk from the Little Tern Wardens to the colony and then several talks in the afternoon at Westmere Farm detailing research projects with a Spurn spin....
The idea is that it is a fairly relaxed, casual way of presenting scientific research that has been carried out at Spurn or Spurn was involved somehow, back to the local community. We're only charging a small fee for this event, to simply cover costs of running the event and not making a profit. We want to encourage our supporters and anyone who birds in the Spurn area to come along, because it is you that we want there to learn a little bit more about some of the exciting research that takes place at Spurn, without been bamboozled by a scientific paper style report!
The talk programme will include the following talks;
Observatory Science - Tim Jones
Insect Migration at Spurn - Harry Witts
Motus Movements - Lucy Mitchell
The Twite Network - Jamie Dunning
Bird Flu - Dan Wade
Humber Curlews - Lucas Mander
It's only £5 for a ticket which includes unlimited tea and coffee as well as lots of cake! You can purchase your ticket here or from the Spurn Hub on weekends.
