Following the delay to the Government COVID guidance update at the start of August, we have decided to delay changing our current plan with Observatory accomodation and will be continuing with only exclusive bookings until August 31st for the time being. We will review this situation once the Government announce further plans mid-month, but for now with further local lockdowns, especially in the North of England we have decided that this is the sensible and safe way to proceed with our accomodation.
This means that family groups etc. can book the whole Observatory building for their exclusive use. Guests will be required to bring ALL their own bedding and towels. Cleaning facilities, hand wash and sanitiser etc. are provided in the Observatory building. The building can be booked out for a minimum of two nights for £150 per night or £125 per night for three nights or more. We have currently paused our cancellation policy for all bookings.
Please note this means the Observatory building and facilities are still strictly off limits to all those who are not guests of a booking - please do not call in for a cup of tea etc. There are no toilet facilities on site for visitors. Any news on recent sightings in the area can be found through @spurnbirdobs on Twitter.
If you would like to enquire about making a booking for your exclusive use please contact [email protected]
We are constantly monitoring the situation and keeping up to date with the government’s latest guidelines. We will inform all of our friends and supporters of any changes to the accommodation available at Spurn Bird Observatory.
Thank you for your patience during this time and for all the support shown by the birding community and beyond.Back to news
