Further new obs progress and new habitat creation

10 February 2016

Well the work party was a great success with most steps being forward (and the odd one down!)

A great big thank you to everyone who came along to help it is really appreciated.

Our paid trades have also been very busy and are just as committed as they were seen burning the midnight oil getting the cladding finished on the gable end.

As you can see the boot room is now boarded out inside, most of the laminate has been laid in the upstairs rooms and the majority of the decorating has been finished.

But the new obs isn’t the only work going on, many of you know we bought a new field in late 2014. Well we’ve taken a while to assess how best to develop it and have now made a serious start. if visiting please keep only to the grass areas as it is very wet and muddy and you will get stuck in it. Many thanks to Alf Kitching ltd for providing us with the machine and driver to do this work.

OK it looks a bit like a bomb site at the moment but once dried out a bit and planted up/vegetated over it will become a really excellent birding area. Please bear in mind though that it is very close to our neighbours so respect their privacy and ensure future access to this area isn’t jeopardised.
